ABOUT

williamscannelljrsAny Refugee was founded in 2014 by a then 9-year-old Alaskan boy, William Scannell IV.

The idea for Any Refugee came from a story he heard from his father about how people used to be able to send letters addressed to Any Soldier.  William took this idea and put it to work helping refugee children in order to love and comfort them.  His elementary school got involved and it just kept growing. Tens of thousands of postcards have been distributed to children on five continents.

William is now in his final year at Eton College in the United Kingdom.

On October 15, 2015, Any Refugee became part of Jesuit Refugee Service/USA.

The mission of Jesuit Refugee Service/USA is to accompany, serve and advocate for the rights of refugees and other forcibly displaced persons.  JRS works in more than 45 countries worldwide to meet the educational, health, social and other needs of refugees and other forcibly displaced persons.
